Free Personal Paper Shredding Events to Help Combat Identity Theft to Be Held

With identity theft becoming one of the fastest growing crimes in America, DCU (Digital Federal Credit Union) along with Iron Mountain are taking proactive steps to fight the battle against identity theft by inviting community residents to a series of free paper shredding events. Giant paper shredding trucks will be on-site for the public to properly destroy sensitive documents containing personal information, account information, and financial statements that they no longer need. These events will take place each Saturday throughout the month of October from 10am to 1pm at the following DCU branch locations:

·         October 4^th        Marlborough, MA – 865 Donald Lynch Boulevard

·         October 11^th      Tyngsborough, MA – 387 Middlesex Road                    

·         October 18^th      Merrimack, NH – 105 Daniel Webster Highway                

·         October 25^th      Franklin, MA – 500 West Central Street

In addition to offering secure document shredding services, DCU will also be providing educational literature regarding prevention, detection, and defense against ID theft; plus the opportunity to win a personal shredder at one of these events. 

* Events will take place rain or shine. Paper, paper clips, staples, and elastics are acceptable. No plastic binders.
